The Role

What is the Solution Architect's role and responsibility?

You will be responsible for the project delivery from the functional and technical point of views: You will be running discovery workshops, defining the project scope and estimating it, creating the application architecture and high-level design, writing POCs, outlining integration flows, assessing UX changes for the identified user roles and personas.

You will be directly communicating with the customer and overseeing that the delivered code matches project objectives, provide input to the Project Manager, and will be directly communicating with developers and the Development Team Lead to create specifications for the next Sprint.

You will be the solution’s Subject Matter Expert (SME) from the functional and technical point of view.

  • Excellent communication skills. This role is 50% communication. Understanding the business needs is key for success in this role. We expect you to run meetings, deliver workshops, articulate issues and have meaningful conversations with project management
  • Excellent technical skills. The role is 50% technical. Understanding the technical limits and options is key for success in this role. We expect you to read and understand Java, JavaScript, SQL; write Proof of Concepts as well as manage server configuration and cloud infrastructure
  • Experience with the SAP Commerce solution. Being certified and having at least one project complete is a huge plus

  • Focused. You can be overflooded with multiple chained issues or tasks. So, you should be able to handle it with a calm head one by one.
  • Inquisitive. To find answers to general questions which everyone may assume but are not anywhere described which may prevent to rise issues in later stages.
  • Team player. Based on your provided information will other team members decide what steps to do and how to deliver the project on time instead of finding more or missing pieces. Do not hesitate to ask for help.
  • Organized. Follow predefined processes within the team.
